Trad on the Prom are excited to announce that they are bringing their World Class Irish Music, Song and Dance extravaganza to it’s new venue in Galway at Leisureland Theatre, Salthill. The state of the art venue boasts wonderful balcony seating giving excellent views throughout the auditorium.
Now in its 13th consecutive season, the contemporary production of Irish traditional music, song and dance continues to enthrall audiences from all around the globe. Acclaimed artists and performers who have captivated audiences in productions such as Riverdance, The Chieftains and Lord of the Dance join forces to create the number one show in Ireland. Mairin Fahy, featured soloist for over 8 years in Riverdance and The Chieftains, is joined on stage by her world class band featuring Chris Kelly, guitars, multi-instrumentalist Yvonne Fahy on accordion and bodhran, the haunting music of the uileann pipes, whistles and bouzuki performed by Gerard Fahy (composer of Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance Dangerous Games ), concertina supremo Padraig Rynne and keyboard maestros Benny Hayes and Colm Henry.
The 2 hour music, song and dance extravaganza features an array of world champion Irish dancing stars with an amazing unrivalled 25 World Titles. Lead by Claire Greaney, brothers Fergal Keaney and Cathal Keaney (Lord of the Dance lead dancers), Colm Conneely, brothers Michael and Matthew Gardiner, Siobhan Manson, lead Riverdance Mary McDonagh, Emer Finnerty and Anne-Marie Keaney. Singers include Eurovision star Marc Roberts, multi AIMS winner Sean Costello and the Chieftains vocalist Yvonne McMahon.
Producers of the show, Mairin Fahy and Chris Kelly, are excited to be embarking on a new chapter with the show that they created 13 years ago in June 2005. ‘It has always been our dream to have proper tiered seating for our audience so that they can enjoy excellent views of the show and see the feet of the world champion dancers regardless of where they are seated. Finally, after 13 years we have achieved this with Leisureland theatre and are very excited about it. Also, with the higher roof level, lighting, sound and the whole production works so much better. This will bring the show to a whole new level’.
