Brendan Hayes (aka Benny) (Pianos, keyboards, vocals) is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Portumna, Co. Galway. He has been playing music with the other members of the Trad on the Prom band in various incarnations since they were teenagers together. He went on to play in various trad , country and pop bands in his teens. He played piano and vocals with the traditional band Reeltime along with Chris and Máirín, and toured extensively with Reeltime while arranging much of the music for same. He was part of the sensational and funloving turbo-trad Galway band "Furry Village" as frontman, vocalist and keyboard player and toured the European celtic festival circuit with them. He has toured in Europe with the Máirin Fahy Band, and Scandanavia with reknowned Danish violinist Kim Sjøgren
As a session recordist he played pianos, Hammond, Wurlitzer and harmonium on the Townes Van Zandt album "No Deeper Blue". He played guitars, bouzouki, piano accordion, pianos and keyboards on the Horan’s Collection Album "Everything’s Going My Way".
Finalist of several Irish songwriting contests, he is a gifted arranger and is currently involved in several studio projects. Currently arranging and producing a Danish-Irish collaborative folk album and has just published his own solo album "A Visit to Ireland - Collection 1".
